Congratulations to H Samy Alim, Charlse G Lee and James G Spady out of Philadelphia for the release of their new book 'Street Conscious Rap'. This is the third book in a trilogy which includes 'Nation Conscious Rap:The Hip Hop Vision' and 'Twisted Tales In The Hip Hop Streets of Philly'. This new book is huge-592 pages and includes interviews from damn near everyone including, Brand Nubian, Cash Money, Busta Rhymes, Tupac, Schoolly D E-40, Puff Daddy, Xzibit, Eve, Scarface, Canibus etc. In all there are more then 70 artist interviews. You name it they are in there.

The book allows artists to discuss their own life stories and perspective on things. It appears to be great resource-and more importantly, it's straight from the artists. The book also contains a number of essays and original stories. These brothas bring to life some of Hip Hop's noteworthy events which have gone into obscurity by many of us who are in positions to present information to the public. For example, they have a recounting of Hip Hop Day in Harlem which went down last year. Here is where they took that picture of all of more then 200 Hip Hop artists. The photo appeared on the cover of XXL I haven't had a chance to peep the whole book yet but from what I read, it appears to be dope. Their first book Nation Conscious rap was off the chain.. The book is put out by the Black History Museum in Philly. For more info drop an email to mailto:h_alim@hotmail.com
